The future of Indian cinema looks hopeful with new and unexpected scripts finding their way to the celluloid. As a new wave of writers and directors have emerged, so have the stories that haven’t been told previously in the country.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Haraamkhor are 2 such examples.
However it’s Shah Rukh Khan’s speculated next movie that has cinema fans across the country excited.
There had been rumors about Shah Rukh Khan being offered to play the role of legendary Indian poet Sahir Ludhianvi. And now finally, Shah Rukh Khan has spoken about the script.
During a media interaction session for his upcoming film Raees, Shah Rukh Khan said:
“I REALLY LIKE THE STORY YAAR! IT WAS OFFERED TO ME, BUT 3-4 YEARS (AGO), IT WAS IN RED CHILLIES ACTUALLY AND THEN BHANSALI TOOK IT OVER AND I’M VERY HAPPY THAT HE HAS TAKEN IT OVER. JASMEET IS THE WRITER. I REALLY LIKED THE STORY BUT WE’VE NOT CONFIRMED IT. NEITHER HAS SANJAY.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been looking to cast Shah Rukh Khan in the role but is yet to have a confirmation.
“SANJAY IS SUPPOSED TO MEET ME NOW. I THINK I’LL MEET HIM AFTER RAEES. I THINK 27TH OR 28TH I’LL MEET HIM, IF HE’S FREE FROM PADMAVATI. HE HAS A COUPLE OF STORIES, ONE OF THEM IS SAHIR LUDHIANVI’S. I HEARD IT 2 YEARS AGO WHEN IT WASN’T WITH SANJAY. IT’S NOT CONFIRMED.”
After Raees, Shah Rukh Khan has 2 untitled projects already lined up. One is Anand L. Rai’s film where Shah Rukh Khan plays a dwarf and the other is Imtiaz Ali’s tentatively titled The Ring.
